Food Endeavors
Food Endeavors
2022-
This series of food-related projects serve as a platform for an array interests and media experiments They are a playground for exploring community event production, as well as design, typography, functional/sculptural objects, and print forms. The printed matter—both functional and aesthetic—also serve as artifacts commemorating the fleeting events.
These endeavors emerged from deep-pandemic experiments with food, primarily focused in baking and fermentation as a technical and conceptual interest. This grew into outdoor food gatherings at home with friends, as a means of being together and sharing space, amidst the uncertainty of COVID-19. The events began to scale-up, and it felt possible to produce them on a larger, public level. Since 2022, this has taken many forms, as different pop-up events adjacent to various art and music gatherings.
The project continues to evolve, change shape, and refocusing on intentions. Though there is a transactional element of the food being sold, the operation is not intended to be a business endeavor. The sales are only a means of supporting the expenses of the project. An aspirational, eventual form of these endeavors would be to provide food at no cost.
Since 2024 this project has become a collaboration with Britt Warren.
